Programmable Fuel Injection Module
August 25, 2007: Michigan Custom Machines, Inc. (MCM), leading designers and builders of custom test and assembly equipment, announces the successful use of their Programmable Fuel Injection Module (PFIM) by a range of manufacturers in the testing process.
The PFIM is in use by several engine manufactures as a means of firing a diesel fuel injector in a manner that duplicates the vehicle application. Since its introduction, the PFIM has emerged as an instrumental tool for meeting the challenges of today’s sophisticated and highly efficient diesel fuel injectors.
In one application, a major North American OEM uses the PFIM for end-of-production testing of turbo diesel engines. In another application, a specialty manufacturer uses the PFIM in dynamometer testing of a lightweight, high-performance military diesel engine. The PFIM continues to enjoy steady acceptance among MCM’s customer base across many platforms.
Notes Michael Schena, President of MCM, “The PFIM solves a critical challenge for manufacturers of today’s high-performance diesel fuel injectors. The programmable features of the module deliver flexibility and value over what has currently been available in the market. In every application, the PFIM module provides OEMs testing accuracy and control for a variety of injectors.”
The PFIM was designed for OEM future product development, giving extended experimental range over the production ECU; test bench integration for endurance testing a complete diesel fuel system; production test machine integration for in-line and end-of-line testing; lab bench or audit bench integration; expanded use with custom firmware; and for users that test several injector types and brands on the same equipment.
